FIS Problem-based learning

Problem-based learning (PBL) is a student-centered approach in which the students learn about a subject by working in groups to solve an open-ended problem. It is a good way to develop one’s critical thinking skills, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities as students are provided with opportunities to learn from complex real-world problems.

We incorporate PBL into our High School Diploma programme, the Alpha Programme, to motivate students to seek out a deeper understanding of concepts. Students typically find it more enjoyable and satisfying and have a tendency to develop their abilities into lifelong learning skills.
