Racial Harmony Day

Racial Harmony Day

On 21st July 1964, race riots took place, 22 people lost their lives and hundreds were severely injured. Racial Harmony Day has since been observed in National Education on the 21st of July each year from 1997 to remind everyone the importance of fostering and maintaining good relations across the different ethnic groups living in the Lion City.

Let’s celebrate our success as a racially harmonious and secular nation through understanding, appreciating and embracing our racial and cultural diversity of Singapore on this special day.
